The Academy of Animated Art is proud to expand its animation education to our youngest film-makers through our Creatineers enrichment program!
Creatineers (Creatives + Engineers = Creatineers!) is designed for students (K-12) to learn all about the captivating world of animation! Our project-based approach empowers students to bring their ideas to life and explore the endless possibilities of visual storytelling through project-based animation education.

For students in grades Pre-K-2
Animation Explorers!
Our creatineers learn lots of new STEAM skills to help them create, design, and bring their own stories to life! Each week students will work on a different activity designed specifically for these young stop-animation film makers! Students will explore:
– Storytelling
– Drawing
– 3-D sculpting
– Animation
– Design!
This course was uniquely designed for our young creatineers to ensure the lessons are fun and age-appropriate while also learning animation skills! Wait until you see what our youngest creatineers make!
For students in 2nd-5th grade
Animation Innovators!
Students learn and develop skills in:
– Storytelling/Storyboarding
– Design
– Sculpture
– Lighting
– Animation
– Sound
– Editing
– Production Management
– Presentation skills
Our hands-on animation activities make it easy for our Creatineers to learn the stop-animation concepts and techniques and apply them to their own film! Students will have the opportunity to explore various careers in art, technology, and math. Creatineers will make their own stop-animation films and you will be blown away by what these young filmmakers can create!
For students in 5th-8th grade
Animation Production!
Students learn and deepen their skills in:
– Storytelling/Storyboarding
– Design / Characters + Environments
– Modeling/ Sculpture
– Lighting / Staging
– Animation / Timing
– Sound design
– Editing /Special FX
– Production/Project Mgmt
– Presentation skills
Our hands-on animation activities make it easy for our Creatineers to learn the stop-animation concepts and techniques and apply them to their own film. Students will explore careers in art, design, technology, & engineering. These young film-makers will showcase their final film at the end of the course.

Learn from professional artists and inspire your students as they are exposed to a curriculum that ignites both their right and left brains!
These hands-on course introduces the world of animation that combines artistic and technical skills to help students expand their
minds and think outside the box through creative thinking and problem-solving.
Creatively, the course includes creative exercises that will spark new ideas and ways to create in every lesson. Each class includes
hands-on exercises that focus on the topic for the week. Students will create flipbooks, storyboards, design their characters, sculpt
those characters, make them move, and more!
Technically, the course gives students an inside look at the key steps to making your film, featuring professional industry artists to
give an inside look at what goes into making what you see or play on the screen. Each stage will reveal different aspects of the
process that will open the student’s eyes and minds to other ways to think and create using artistic and technical brains. They will
encounter technical challenges to their creative vision and learn how to problem-solve around these obstacles. Exposing students to
areas of the creation they never even knew existed.
Coolest part? Students will leave with a final project, their own animation to be proud of and share with the world.
Students will walk away with new knowledge/skills:
